Gerald S. Garnick graduated from American International College in 1965 and received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1968. After law school he commenced his legal career in Boston and moved to Cape Cod in 1971 where he started his practice of law. He started the present law firm in October 1973. In 1988 he represented Chemical Bank in a real estate foreclosure action. In that case Attorney Garnick succeeded in advocating to the Supreme Judicial Court the creation of new law in Massachusetts which held that sale of the foreclosed property to the second highest bidder if the highest bidder defaults was valid. He is a trained mediator and is a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation and the Association for Conflict Resolution.
Attorney Garnick is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association and received the 1998 MBA’s Community Service Award. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Barnstable County Bar Association and was active in the BCBA Conciliation Program in both the Superior and the District Courts. He was a member of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Commission to Study Racial and Ethnic Bias in the Massachusetts Court System.
Attorney Garnick has been a Board of Trustees Member of the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra since 1977 and is currently serving as Chair of the Symphony.
He has served as Member and Chairman for Yarmouth Board of Health and Member of Town of Yarmouth Cablevision Committee.

Joyce W. Scudder graduated and obtained her R.N. from the Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing, obtained her B.S. from the University of Bridgeport and her M.S. from the University of Maryland. Prior to becoming a lawyer she was Director of Nursing at Newton Wellesley Hospital and then at Cape Cod Hospital. She received her law degree from Boston College Law School in 1984 and is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Attorney Scudder is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts. She has served on Medical Malpractice Tribunals in the Barnstable Superior Court.
Attorney Scudder has served on the Board of Directors for Visiting Nurse Association for Central and Outer Cape Cod and for Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod. Attorney Scudder is a member of the Delta Kappa Tau and Sigma Therta Tau National Honor Societies.

Lois M. Farmer obtained a B.A. from Emmanuel College and an M.A. from Boston College, both in Germanic Studies. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from New England School of Law in 1988. Attorney Farmer is admitted to practice in Massachusetts as well as in the Supreme Court of the United States, United States District Court, District of Massachusetts and United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit. She has served as President and Member of the Executive Committee of the Barnstable County Bar Association and as editor of the Barnstable County Bar Association newsletter, the Barrister. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. She has served on Medical Malpractice Tribunals in the Barnstable Superior Court. Attorney Farmer is a trained mediator and was active in the BCBA Conciliation Program in both the Superior and the District Courts, and serves as Lawyer of the Day in the Probate and Family Court.
Attorney Farmer has been an officer and director of Legal Services of Cape Cod and the Islands. Attorney Farmer was formerly an educator at Bourne High School and Adjunct Professor at New England School of Law. She has served on the Board of Directors and has been Chairman of various committees of Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.

Paul J. Attea is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, New York and received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. Following admission to the Massachusetts Bar in 1992, Paul began the practice of law in Hyannis, Massachusetts. He joined the firm of Garnick & Scudder, P.C. in 1993. Mr. Attea began his professional career as a radio broadcaster and worked in that field in New York, South Carolina and Massachusetts before entering law school. Mr. Attea is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts in 1993, he is a member of the Barnstable County and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
Attorney Attea has served as a member of the National Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association since 2002. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association and as a Chair of the Massachusetts Chapter Board from 2004 through 2006. He is a past member of the Cape Cod Hospital Home Health Care Department Professional Advisory Committee and the Professional Advisory Committee for Harbor Point at Centerville Assisted Living Center for the Memory Impaired. Paul has volunteered his time since 1996 as a pro bono attorney in the Legal Services for Cape Cod and the Islands Law Firm Counseling Program, providing legal advice at no charge to income eligible clients.

Alex M. Rodolakis, Esq. Of Counsel

Alex M. Rodolakis obtained a B.A. from Tufts University and received his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1994. Mr. Rodolakis concentrates in commercial matters including bankruptcy and workout issues and the representation of debtors, trustees, creditors committees and secured and unsecured creditors in Massachusetts and throughout the United States. Attorney Rodolakis also has extensive experience in representing parties in informal and out of court workouts.
While in law school, Attorney Rodolakis was a law clerk with the United States Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee. Mr. Rodolakis also has substantial experience in commercial disputes and litigation. Mr. Rodolakis is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association, serving on its Executive Committee since 2005, and is a member of Boston Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
